My Quick-And-Dirty Recap of Season 4…

…and the gist of Season 5…and the ship-war shit storm accompanying both. Irony of ironies, I’m FINALLY publishing this the night of the series finale. I’m gone around in circles for a few months about whether to ever publish this, but here goes.

For those who’ve followed this blog, I’ve mostly kept mum on seasons 4 and 5, save for a few Tumblr comments and a post way back when expressing my initial displeasure at Norma’s then-upcoming death. I’ve since accepted the beautiful, tragically romantic way that went down. You also know my fanfic has been (still is) my main focus. I know what the inevitable outcome of the actual series is, as we all do. I haven’t felt the need to ruminate into infinity or whine to the show producers or personally attack other fans on social media, or any of the other frankly disgusting behavior I’ve witnessed from some so-called “fans.” Honestly, I consider any of that far beneath me. I’d much rather devote my energy and focus to creating my own AU ‘verse. And if you have an issue with that, there’s always that little “X” button to take you away from here.

Without further ado, here’s my very quick-and-dirty recap.

Episode 1, “A Danger to Himself and Others”: A gut-wrenchingly painful scene between Norma and Norman where he nearly takes both of them out of this horrible, cruel world. So they can be happy together in whatever hereafter may wait for all of us.

Episodes 2-8: A bunch of vomit-inducing N*rmero crap that I’m not wasting time on. And some other stuff happens with Dylan and Cinnamon Roll–also not worth wasting more words on. And strippers: the only brief highlight LOL Brutal honesty again: If you’re not SoulBates, and especially if you’re an anti: This site is NOT for you and you’re not welcome here. If you haven’t gotten that hint from the home page and numerous other posts, I don’t know what to tell you, except go play with the rest of the N*rmero kiddies in the sandbox that’s become A&E’s Bates Facebook Page :P

Episode 9, “Forever”: Norman meant for them to leave this filthy goddamn horror show that’s the world as it is, together. A world that would never let them be together as they’re meant to be.

Episode 10, “Norman”: Witnesses the final breaking of Norman’s mind, as he retreats into a fantasy paradise of life with Mother, though that quickly unravels at the seams. As we see in all its excruciating detail throughout Season 5. The ending is the end of this Bates ‘verse. But not the end of all the rest of the ‘verses still in my head and heart. Keep visiting My Fan Fiction here on for new story chapters as soon as I can publish them.

On a more personal note: I’ve gained more from this fandom than I can describe or accurately put into words. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a day.
